Cure for Rheumatism

2d opodeldoc, 2d turpentine, 1/2d vinegar, 2 fresh eggs well beaten up, mix with other ingredients and shake well. Rub the part affected for 2 hours when all the pain will vanish.

Remedy for Rheumatism

Juice of 1 lemon, 1 cup water, 1 t. soda. Mix and drink every night for three or four weeks, or until relieved.

Magic Oil

One gallon Sweet Oil, two ozs. Oil Hemlock, two ozs. Oil Organum, two ozs. Chloroform, four ozs. Spirits Ammonia. Mix. Let it stand 24 hours and it is ready for use. Dose, internally, one teaspoonful for adults. Bathe the affected parts well. This is a great remedy for aches and pains, Rheumatism, Neuralgia, and all nervous and inflammatory diseases.

A Plaster for Sprains or Attacks of Rheumatism in Joints

Take equal parts of resin and Burgundy pitch, melt in a tin dipper, and when liquid put in a piece of camphor gum as large as an English walnut, and half that, in size, of opium. Stir till all is dissolved, as it will soon be if kept hot, and when none of the gum is visible spread on thin leather or thick drilling. Apply while warm and it will relieve the pain. These are all excellent, tried remedies.

Rheumatism, Sulphur Good for

“Cases of chronic rheumatism are often relieved by sulphur baths and sulphur tea. Dose:– Powder sulphur and mix with molasses. A teaspoonful three times a day,” Sulphur is a good blood purifier and laxative.
